William C. Barker supports NIST cybersecurity research and applications programs. He was previously NIST’s Cybersecurity Advisor and its Information Technology Laboratory’s Associate Director for Cybersecurity. He was the first director for the National Initiative For Cybersecurity Education, the National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace’s PMO, and the NCCoE. He was Chief of NIST’s Computer Security and Information Access Divisions. Prior to 19 years in private sector R&D management, Mr. Barker was part of NSA’s early IT security programs.
